Bob Baker

President, SBANE

Bob Baker is the President of the Smaller Business Association of New England located in Waltham, MA.  Mr. Baker has over thirty-five years of experience as a business advocate and advisor to small business on tax and capital formation issues that influence their investment behavior.  Over the years, Bob has arrange public or private financing packages to facilitate growth as both a private and public sector underwriter and has sponsored legislative initiatives in economic development and tax policy on Beacon Hill that has resulted in the creation and funding of several new Massachusetts development finance agencies.  Prior to his position at SBANE, Mr. Baker held the position of Vice President of Commonwealth Corporation and Senior lender for the Economic Stabilization Trust and was the Director of development for MassDevelopment / Government Land Bank between 1991-1996.

Mr. Baker sits on several boards and is affiliated with the Business Development Capital of New England’s 504 Entity.

Mr. Baker attended the University of South Carolina and received a BA in Journalism and also attended the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute of Organizational  Management.  He currently lives in Hamilton, MA with his wife and daughter.
