John Farmer is Senior Vice President & Senior Credit Officer at Eastern Bank. Since he joined the bank in 1990, Farmer has served in various senior leadership roles in the Corporate Credit, Commercial Lending and Treasury Services divisions of the bank. Currently, John is Chairman of the bank’s Credit Committee.

Mr. Farmer earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Bentley University and he also completed the graduate program at the University of Delaware’s Stonier Graduate School of Banking, where he also served as a thesis advisor for many years.

Mr. Farmer lives with his wife and family in Danvers, where he is very active in the community, serving both as an elected Town Meeting Member and an appointed member of the Planning Board. John is also on the Advisory Board of Catholic Charities North, a Lynn-based nonprofit organization serving more than 20 communities north of Boston.
